People behind the figures

WPCS Chief Executive Rev Iain McFadzean has responded to a new report on the rate of closing stores in Scotland: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-29540864

“Behind these figures are real people with families to support and rent and mortgages to pay. Even when new stores replace those closing, the inherent instability and change of the retail sector is a challenging environment for all involved in it.
“Our chaplains, support all who are trying to earn a living and maintain a productive and enjoyable life in these challenging circumstances. There is however a real danger of concentrating on the negative and missing the rays of hope. The Scottish people are a resilient race. Our chaplains try to bring hope into even the darkest of situations and, remarkably, often find optimism and humour amidst turmoil.”
