Wellbeing funding for Dundee....

Dundee VVA ScotGov

WPCS is delighted to announce that additional areas of Dundee will be given chaplaincy support due to funding from the Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund through Dundee Volunteer & Voluntary Action TSI  (DVVA) and the Scottish Government to support mental health and wellbeing in Dundee.

This Project will reach more organisations, community groups and businesses that until now have not received such support due to Covid-19, the surge in mental health and wellbeing needs and previous capacity of Chaplains. Three areas of support to workplaces and communities will be in Lochee, NE Dundee area (inc. Ballumbie/Baldovie/Douglas) and Broughty Ferry - a ‘Listening Post’ partnership to reduce isolation, care for older people and trauma support. Chaplains will work with community groups, faith communities and business networks to achieve its objectives and outcomes.

Dundee Listening Post

Chaplains will support people with a range of core wellbeing services including confidential consultations with individuals and groups for social isolation, bereavement, trauma, resilience and suicide prevention support, plus additional services (e.g. wellbeing seminars – online/onsite sessions e.g. bereavement, stress/depression, suicide awareness for hybrid workers).
